Tory Matthews

Administrator

My name is Tory Matthews I am the administrator at Beach Babies Rehoboth location. I have over 21 years of experience in the Early Care and Education field. I have two Associate Degrees in Early Childhood Education/Early Childhood Development and Office Systems Technology; three diplomas in Early Childhood Studies, Clerical Studies, and Word Processing Studies; six credentials in Early Childhood Administration, Infant-Toddler, Family Child Care, Preschool, Curriculum and Assessment, and Inclusion.

I am a native of Seaford, DE, where I currently reside. I enjoy being with my family and spend most of my time being very active in my church where I’m a part of the ministerial staff and the church administrator.

I believe the most important aspect of a child’s development is learning through play. Developmentally appropriate practices should be implemented in all daily routines while providing active involvement, meaningful experimentation, and positive reinforcement. Most importantly every child should engage in good old fashion wholesome fun!

Christina West

Director of Education

My name is Christina West, and I grew up in Georgetown, Delaware. I am the new Director of Education at Beach Babies in Rehoboth! I have been in the Early Childcare field for over 13 years. During that time, I held the positions of lead teacher and administrator. I have had the opportunity to work and be a role model to numerous children. I have a degree in Early Childhood Education. I have taught in one-year-old classrooms through pre-k and have enjoyed watching the children grow in all stages of their development. I have always had a passion for teaching and making sure all the children enjoy learning through play.

I have three children. I also have three dogs. Duke is my grumpy old Pitbull. Chubs is my lovable Lab/Husky mix and my guard dog. Bella is my Bluetick Coonhound puppy. In my spare time, I enjoy playing games, swimming in the summer, and making memories with my family. My favorite part about working in the early childhood field is watching the children’s growth throughout the years. I’m so excited to become part of the Beach Babies family.
