  • How Safe & Secure is the building?
 
Each building’s front lobby/vestibule area door is locked with access through keypad
entry. An office administrator is at the front greeting area.
 
  • What are the staff qualifications?
 
All staff are required to have a criminal background check prior to employment.
First Aid, C.P.R., Medication Certification are required in addition to 18 hours of
annual training. We have 2 Professional Development Days that staff attend. Many
staff are in the process of attaining their Early Childhood Degrees or already have
Associates or Bachelor’s Degrees.
 
  • What meals are provided?
 
We are a part of the Child & Adult Food Program. We serve a nutritious Breakfast,
Lunch and Snack.
We also provide Infant Formula, cereal and baby foods until regular food is
introduced.
Menus are posted.
 
  • What if my child has a food allergy?
 
Our programs are all peanut free. If your child has other allergies, a food
modification form needs to be completed by a physician. We will do our best to
substitute certain items but cannot always accommodate. Soy, Almond, Rice, etc. is
not provided.
 
  • When is tuition due?
 
Tuition is due each Monday for that week. We accept cash, credit cards and checks.

Late fees apply if tuition is
not paid on time.
 
  • Do I need to pay tuition if my child does not attend or is on vacation?
 
If your child is absent due to illness or vacation time, tuition is still due.
 
  • How do I Drop Off/Pick Up?
 
When you arrive you will to sign in child/children with your login at the front
computer. Children must be walked to their classroom and dropped off to the
teacher.
At pick-up you will need to login and sign your child out.
 
  • When does potty training begin?
 
Children are introduced to using the toilet in our two-year old class. No child is ever
forced to use the potty.
 
  • What are the staff to child ratios?
 
Ratios vary by classroom and age group. Beach Babies follows state of Delaware child to
teacher ratio requirements which are posted outside each classroom.
 
  • Is Beach Babies a Learning Environment?
 
Beach Babies is a 5 STAR center which means we are meeting the Department of
Education’s requirement’s regarding quality, professionalism and developmentally
appropriate practices. This means that weekly curriculum reflecting age
appropriate hands on activities will be planned. In our
Pre-k classes’ kindergarten readiness and social skills are emphasized. Each child
beginning with infants will have a portfolio and 2 teacher conferences offered each
school year.
